Zombie Wheat and Zombie Subsidies #FarmBill #zombies

June 5, 2013

Raw Story: “Monsanto baffled by reappearance of GMO ‘zombie wheat’ in Oregon” by David Ferguson is about wheat that “refused to die” from herbicide proving it was Monsanto’s genetically modified wheat that should never have been on that land.

Meanwhile in The Columbus Dispatch: “Expensive ‘zombie’ subsidies just won’t die” by David A. Fahrenthold of The Washington Post is about agricultural subsidies.

Both of these articles seem to only have “zombie” in the headline (unless I am missing it), so it’s probably attributable to the editors more than the writers in the byline. And all of this in the context of the pending farm bill and related lobbying efforts.
