Vermont Public Radio resurrects Zombie Congress (fiscal cliff taxmageddon)
Vic Henningsen at Vermont Public Radio has resurrected Congressman Jim Cooper’s phrase “Zombie Congress” (from May) in audio podcast commentary available at “Henningsen: Zombie Congress“.
Henningsen refers to “Taxmageddon”, and the “fiscal cliff” and traditional metaphors of “lame duck”. He also suggests a “zombie caucus” or a “zombie jamboree” – noting that the crisis could still be averted and in the past “Congress has risen”.
I would note that Congress likes to rise the day before the deadline after the markets have a little turmoil. But personally, I’m thinking fiscal cliff doesn’t sound that bad … like Thelma and Louise did — WooooOOoooo – then pick up the pieces and restart negotiations on January 2, when every plan becomes a tax cut.
