Office of Traffic Safety hunting Cell Phone Zombies (Oprah Glee)
In a campaign to raise consciousness about distracted driving, a danger of cell phone technology, California Office of Traffic and Safety (OTS) has developed a series of public service announcements against using cell phones in cars. These multiple ads compare drivers on cell phones with zombies and are available on the OTS youtube page.
Patch.com has run this story in various versions throughout California counties – Monrovia, Belmont, Loma Linda , Altadena – and it’s also reported in ABC-7 KGC-TV San Francisco via KGO-TV Sacramento, and also found in LAist and many other news sources.

Previously, Oprah Winfrey had been very active in trying to stop cell phone use while driving, declaring cars should be a “No Phone Zone”, asking people to take her “No Phone Zone Pledge” and declaring April 30, 2010 as “No Phone Zone Day”. Also the Glee 2011-2012 winter hiatus cliff-hanger has left a character critically injured after texting while driving.
